ESPN is reporting that Cavaliers' owner Dan Gilbert is only hours away from firing GM Jim Paxson.

The team released a statement from Gilbert after the game addressing the report: "I don't think it makes sense for us to comment on the truth or the inaccuracy of rumors related to key positions in our organization."

Paxson replaced Wayne Embry as general manager in 1999.

The Cavaliers got off to a great start this season, but have been slowly fading since the new year.  

Paul Silas was fired on March 21st and was replaced by Brendan Malone.
