According to Boston Herald writer Steve Bulpett, the Celtics may need to trade for a genetic engineer if they are to put together a complete game this season. Cloning Ricky Davis seems to be the only way Doc Rivers will solve his rotational issues.
While Davis clearly excelled last year coming off the bench, it's also evident now that Paul Pierce needs Davis alongside to draw attention and help with ball movement. The Celts regularly dug themselves some early holes last season, and it's imperative they alleviate that problem.
But is there enough scoring off the pine, if Davis starts?
``It was a good look,'' Pierce said after Davis started and had four assists in the first half in the loss to the Cavaliers. ``Ricky really started out well. Maybe that's something we're going to need, to make sure we get off to good starts.''
