Magic Assistant General Manager Otis Smith said PG Steve Francis' return to the team will be decided during today's meeting at RDV Sportsplex. "It depends on how it goes," Smith said Sunday
The Magic's next game is against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night at TD Waterhouse Centre. Francis was suspended Thursday without pay indefinitely after he refused to re-enter last Wednesday night's game against the Seattle SuperSonics late in the fourth quarter.
Francis' agent, Jeff Fried, said Francis "is prepared to do whatever is reasonable, whatever is appropriate, . . . but until we meet, it's hard to say."
Asked whether Francis was in a better state of mind, Fried said, "Oh, yes. He went to Houston to clear his head, and he's ready to get back to Orlando and with his team. He's ready to get going."
NBA sources have told the Sentinel that the Magic are open to trading Francis. "We haven't reached that point," Smith reiterated.
