Cavaliers forward Ira Newble remained hospitalized Wednesday and was being treated for a facial abscess, the second medical setback for him this season.
The team said Newble, who was admitted to the Cleveland Clinic on Tuesday, will not accompany the Cavs on their trip to play the Miami Heat on Thursday.
Newble missed the first 23 games this season with tissue inflammation in his right foot. He missed Monday's game in Charlotte with a migraine headache.
The Cavaliers did not give any new details about Newble's injury. The team previously said Newble's facial abscess was not related to his migraine.
