Nineteen-year-old Golden State big man Andris Biedrins is turning heads around the league with his play as of late. He recorded a career-high in blocks shots against Denver last week, swatting six, two more than his previous best and more than he could ever remember blocking in a single game in Europe.
"That's what coach expects from me," Biedrins told the San Francisco Chronicle. "That's my job. Rebounding the ball and bringing energy. Go for every ball and try to help my teammates."
His blocks are a Warriors season high. Biedrins is averaging 7.5 points, seven rebounds and two blocks in his last four games If he continues that rise he could make one of Golden State's high dollar veterans, say Troy Murphy or Mike Dunleavy Jr., expendable.
