Jazz owner Larry Miller has met with head coach Jerry Sloan and assured him that his job is safe.  The assurance came after rumors speculated that Sloan, Utah's coach of the last 18 years, may be fired by Miller.

Miller said he was upset that the Jazz were showing no "fire" on Monday. Utah won the game and Miller clarified his comments afterward.

But Sloan wanted to make sure Miller didn't mean "fire" -- as in "terminate."

"I didn't say that. I don't know who told him that," Miller said Wednesday. "So he was nervous about that and I understand that if that's what he thought. So we spent 10 or 15 minutes just talking about stuff and reiterating the commitment we've always had."
