University of Colorado junior Richard Roby will return to the team next year instead of testing the NBA Draft, the San Bernadino, Calif., native announced Saturday in a statement released by the school.

"I felt it was the best decision for me," said Roby from his home in California. "I'm not a gambling man, and I know coming back for my junior year can help me be a better player and show my leadership."

Roby was the leading scorer the past two years for the Buffaloes, averaging 17 points, and a 2005-06 All-Big 12 first-team selection.

"One of the great NCAA rules is to allow a young man to test the waters and to see his projection of his draft position," said Colorado head coach Ricardo Patton. "We certainly welcome Richard back to the team, and his experience through the process he endured will make him a much better player. The new and returning players look forward to the opportunity of playing with him for another year."
