Multiple sources have informmed ESPN.com that O.J. Mayo has told the players and coaching staff of the University of Southern California that he will commit to them.

NCAA rules forbid college coaches from commenting publicly on commitments until they receive a signed national letter of intent.

It has long been believed that the 6-4 high school standout would play for Bob Huggins, but the lure of Tim Floyd and the major media market of Los Angeles are very attractive to Mayo.

"[Mayo] could change a program and give it instant credibility," said one source. "He sees the big market and knows that he's not too far away from being marketed. [Going to USC] would only help him and he's confident enough to win a national championship."
