The Bulls officially opened training camp on Tuesday morning under a cloak of darkness.

The power went out at the Berto Center in Deerfield about a half-hour before practice began. So the Bulls began their drills in a dark gym, with the only light coming from two open doors in the corner.

?I told John (Paxson), maybe if his predecessor (Jerry Krause) hadn?t been such a super secret agent man, we?d have some windows in here and some light would have come in and we would have been all right,? Bulls coach Scott Skiles joked.

While the team scrambled to find contingency plans for the afternoon practice, the lights came back on shortly before 10 a.m., allowing the Bulls to conduct most of the original practice plan.

?We were prepared to go over this afternoon to where the Bulls used to practice (the former Multiplex, now Joy of the Game travel basketball headquarters),? Skiles said. ?We were calling high schools. We were trying to do anything to find a place for this morning.?
