Sebastian Telfair is being investigated for possibily having a role in the shooting of rapper Fabolous, according to police sources who have spoken to ESPN's Jeremy Schaap.

"We're investigating whether there's a connection between the reported robbery and the shooting," New York Police Department spokesman Paul Browne told The Associated Press.

Just hours before the shooting, Telfair had a $50,000 chain ripped from his neck.
