The Boston Celtics announced today that the club has exercised the team option on Tony Allen?s contract for the 2007-08 season. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Allen, a 6-4, 240lb guard appeared in 51 games for the Celtics in 2005-06, scored a career-high 23 points vs. Cleveland, April 17, 2006. Allen averaged 7.2 points, 1.3 assists and 1.0 steal in 19.2 minutes per game last season. The 25th overall selection the 2004 NBA Draft, Allen played his college basketball at Oklahoma State where he was named Big 12 Player of the Year by the league?s coaches and earned Honorable Mention All-America by the Associated Press as a senior.
