The results of an MRI concluded that Hornets center Marc Jackson has a partially torn left hamstring and he will miss the start of the regular season.

"I just felt something rip," Jackson said. "I just felt something pop. It was a lot of pain, and I knew right then something was wrong.

"I might have to completely shut it down for a few weeks to let it heal just so I can get out there and help the team. We have a lot of good players and a lot of good talent, but they don't have me out there and they need me. I truly believe that."
