Nick Young scored a season-high 26 points and Southern California beat Wichita State 60-56 in the third-place game of the Las Vegas Classic on Saturday.

Wichita State arrived in Las Vegas as the number eight team in the country, but also lost 71-68 to New Mexico for their first defeat of the season after opening 9-0.

"They kept coming at us," Wichita State coach Mark Turgeon said. "They have a lot more athletes than us. Nick Young was unbelievable."
