Spencer Hawes worked out Wednesday for the 76ers, but theirs weren?t the only eyes looking at him from the University of Washington.
Because Hawes, who just completed his freshman year, hasn?t hired an agent and may go back to school, he?s trying to limit the number of trips he takes. To that end, his camp asked if the Celtics could come watch this workout. President Billy King allowed it, and so Danny Ainge, Boston?s executive director of basketball operations, was on hand.
The Sixers have the 12th, 21st and 30th picks in the first round of the June 28 draft. Boston holds the fifth pick.
If he remains in the draft, he?s likely to be a lottery pick. The most recent consensus of mock drafts compiled by NBA.com rates Hawes as the No. 11 pick.
