Peja Stojakovic, who missed all but 13 games last season after back surgery in December, is not expected to arrive in New Orleans for volunteer workouts until later this month. GM Jeff Bower said Stojakovic has made significant progress with his rehabilitation work in Greece, his offseason home.
"Peja is motivated as anyone to get back on the floor and help this team," Bower said. "His summer has been good, and he's made a lot of progress. He's been active with not only his rehab and core exercising but also with his shooting workouts, and he continues to work on his skill development. He hated to sit there and watch the games when he was injured."
Stojakovic will travel to Spain next week to attend a retirement party for Vlade Divac, his former Sacramento Kings teammate.
