With Lakers owner Jerry Buss now saying he'd listen to offers for Kobe Bryant, Isiah Thomas seems less enthused. Thomas thinks Bryant is the game's elite player, but he's in no hurry to break up the Zach Randolph-Eddy Curry dynamo. Thomas acted blas? Saturday about the Bryant issue.

"We don't discuss trade opportunities or possibilities," Thomas said. "We're in the business to put together the best basketball team we can and we're always trying to get better."I don't know if he is [on the block] or isn't. The Laker organization will speak for themselves. My concern is with my team."

Asked about his Kobe enthusiasm in June, Thomas said, "Kobe publicly came out and said something himself. Since then the only thing I've read is where he's going to camp and happy where he's at. You probably have to talk to Dr. Buss. I'm not going to speak for him."
