Cavaliers' guard Larry Hughes says he could be ready for live action next week.

The 6-foot-5, 185-pounder hopes to practice today at Cleveland Clinic Courts. If everything goes as planned and there are no setbacks, he could appear in a game sometime next week.

He's been suffering from a deep bone bruise in his left knee. Hughes was shut down on Nov. 16, when it was announced he would miss at least a month.

"It was three weeks of doing nothing," he said.
He's been shooting on the court before games and taking part in shooting drills in practice and shootarounds. Now it's time to test out the knee in practice. Hughes could be limited in contact drills in today's practice.

Hughes hasn't played since the Los Angeles Clippers game on Nov. 11. Since that game, he's missed consecutive 13 games. The earliest he could see some action is probably Tuesday against Indiana at Quicken Loans Arena.
