Still searching for a reliable outside shooter to offset last summer's free-agent losses of Jason Kapono, James Posey and Eddie Jones, the Heat has turned its attention to Development League guard Luke Jackson.

The former Cavaliers' first-round pick has been with the Idaho Stampede of the NBDL, after being cut during training camp by Toronto, where he spent the end of last season following a stint with the Clippers.

Jackson was held out of the Stampede's Friday night game in Sioux Falls, S.D. after the Heat expressed interest.

Jackson, who was selected with the No. 10 pick by Cleveland in 2004, reported to the Stampede last week, scoring 30 points in his only appearance with the team.
