Antawn Jamison led Washington with 21 points and 11 boards, and Caron Butler added 15 points, 7 assists and 5 boards in the loss. Los Angeles, who is awaiting the debut of Pau Gasol, also got 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists from Lamar Odom. The Lakers never trailed in their second consecutive victory.

The Detroit Pistons shut down the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday, en route to a 90-67 victory at The Palace of Auburn Hills. Rasheed Wallace tallied 21 points and 9 rebounds for the Pistons, who held the Mavericks to just 30% shooting from the floor. Detroit also outrebounded Dallas by seven and got 16 points and 7 boards from Tayshaun Prince. Dirk Nowitzki scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Mavericks, who have now lost consecutive games for the first time since mid-December. Josh Howard added 15 points and 9 boards for Dallas in the loss.
