During Saturday's playoff television broadcast, Mark Jackson was asked about the possibility of filling the coaching vacancy in New York.

"I tell you what, Donnie Walsh is a guy that I have a great relationship with," said Jackson, speaking about the Knicks' new team president. "As far as history, the New York Knicks are one of the most storied franchises in all of sports. That certainly is a job that is very intriguing."

Former Knick coach Jeff Van Gundy, who was also thought to be in contention for the job, gave his endorsement of Jackson.  "He?s the right guy at the right time for the New York Knicks," Van Gundy said.
