The Boston Celtics are one win from the NBA Finals after defeating the Detroit Pistons 106-102 on Wednesday night.

Kevin Garnett posted 33 points and 7 rebounds and Kendrick Perkins tallied 18 points and 16 boards for the Celtics, who made 50% of their shots and outrebounded Detroit by seventeen.

The Celtics outscored the Pistons by thirteen over the second and third quarters, but Detroit made things interesting in the final moments by posting a 31-22 edge in the fourth quarter.

Both teams turned the ball over a fair amount, Boston committed seventeen against Detroit's fifteen.

Ray Allen busted out of his shooting slump to score 29 points on 9-for-15 shooting, including 5-for-6 from behind the three-point line.

Both Kendrick Perkins and Rasheed Wallace were assessed technical fouls for arguing with officials in the fourth quarter, and P.J. Brown was charged with a flagrant foul on a Jason Maxiell dunk attempt in the second quarter.

Chauncey Billups had 26 points and 6 assists and Richard Hamilton added 25 points in the loss for the Pistons, who made 46% of their shot attempts and used a 10-1 run in the fourth to crawl back into the game.

Rookie Rodney Stuckey made a three-pointer with 1:24 left on the clock to trim Boston's lead to one, 100-99, but Allen answered with a jumper of his own to push the lead back to three.

Stuckey made a pair of free throws with eight seconds left to bring the Pistons to within one, but given the chance to do the same a few ticks later he made just one of two as Boston maintained a two-point lead.

Garnett than stepped to the foul line to secure the victory, nailing both shots to make the score 106-102.

Game Six will be Friday night in Detroit as the Pistons look to force the third Game Seven in Boston this postseason.
