Newsday reported that once Donnie Walsh arrived in Orlando for the NBA Pre-Draft Camp, he would "be studying prospective general managers more than he'll be viewing his potential draft choice."
Billy King, Mark Warkentien, and Tommy Sheppard were mentioned as candidates. And Newsday says Walsh promised Bernie Bickerstaff a position in the Knick front office.
But Walsh denied that he's looking to make a GM hire before the draft. The New York Post reports that the draft process will unfold with Glen Grunwald heading a team of more than a dozen scouts.
"I haven't said I needed a new GM," Walsh said. "I know there's a lot of interest because I get phone calls. I got people in place. I'm happy with what Glen is doing."
