The Boston Celtics won their seventeenth NBA Title after dominating the Los Angeles Lakers 131-92 on Tuesday night.

Boston led by four points after the first quarter but broke things open with a 26-6 run in the second to secure the 2008 NBA Championship with a six-game win over the favored Lakers.

Paul Pierce notched 17 points and 9 assists, and Kevin Garnett rebounded from a rough performance in Game Five to record 26 points and 14 rebounds for the Celtics, who shot 49% from the floor and outrebounded L.A. by nineteen.

Ray Allen added 26 points in the win, including a Finals' record seven three-pointers.

Boston recorded eighteen steals, going 13-for-26 from behind the three-point line. They also shot an incredible 32-for-37 from the foul line.

Kobe Bryant scored 22 points for the Lakers in the loss, with a majority of his scoring coming in the first few minutes of the game.

Lamar Odom posted 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists in the loss as the Lakers struggled incredibly after the first twelve minutes.

The Celtics outscored L.A. in every quarter, en route to a historic championship-clinching win.

Rajon Rondo, often criticized as not good enough to play point guard for Boston, tallied 21 points, 8 assists, 7 rebounds, and 6 steals in Game Six.

Paul Pierce was named the 2008 NBA Finals MVP for his inspiring performance in Boston's six-game series victory.
