Concerning Danilo Gallinari's continuing back problems, a source told Newsday, "The specialist said the right thing is recommending rest, not surgery."

Medical opinions have been consistent:  An MRI confirmed that Gallinari suffers from a bulging disk that is pressing against the nerves, but his back is structurally sound.

The specialist believes the Knicks rushed Gallinari back too soon.

Rest is the prescription for Gallinari, for a period likely to exceed a month.
