Utah forward Carlos Boozer will have surgery on his injured left quadriceps soon, but there is timetable for his return.

"I've pretty much known I had to get surgery for maybe a week," Boozer said Thursday. "I just wanted to get [the] MRI's done to exhaust all my options and make sure."

Boozer hasn't played since Nov. 19 against the Bucks.

"They won't be sure until they put the camera in there and look around," Boozer said. "Then they'll clean it up, and I'll be back after that.

"I'm not going to do a timetable. I'm just going to have the surgery and see what my doctor says when he gets out of there."
