New Orleans, which hosted the NBA's All-Star Weekend for the first time in 2008, is interested in bringing the annual celebration to the Big Easy again as soon as 2014.
"The NBA knows and understands we are very interested in having the game back," president/CEO of the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation Jay Cicero said. "It looks like the next possible date is 2014 for us and we've had an awful lot of conversations about that.
"Hopefully, when the bid comes, we and the Hornets can work together to get it back. I know the Hornets are all in favor to get it back. I'm hopeful of that, too. Everything that happened last year, we hope is a great precursor to another game in New Orleans. We proved that we were more than ready and that we're still one of the best in the country at hosting and producing these type of events."
