Kevin Garnett has returned to Boston on his own to get an MRI on the right knee he strained in Utah on Thursday, according to ESPN.

Garnett was injured while going for an alley-oop in the second quarter and did not play in the second half.

"It's a long season and we're not going to take a risk," said coach Doc Rivers said last night. "I love having him out there and he probably would have made a difference."
