The Knicks battered Dwyane Wade on Saturday night, knocking him down often and even bloodying his mouth.
Wade responded by helping the Heat overcome a 15-point fourth quarter deficit to beat New York 120-115 at AmericanAirlines Arena.
He scored 24 of his 46 points in the fourth, which tied a team-record for points in a quarter. Wade received an elbow from Danilo Gallinari that ultimately required stitches after the game.
"I felt like I caught a cheap shot," said Wade. "It was just a switch. I hit that switch and I wasn't to be denied tonight. We knew they couldn't keep it up."
Miami coach Erik Spoelstra knew that the best plan on Saturday night was to get Wade the ball.
"It was a simple plan in the fourth: Get them to take a shot at Dwyane and make him bleed," Spoelstra said. "It took an incident like that to spark us. I said to them, 'Get the [heck] out of Dwyane's way.' I have not seen that look in his eye since Dallas."
