Dwyane Wade scored 50 points and dished 10 assists in Miami's 140-129 win over Utah on Saturday afternoon.
The Heat erased a seven-point deficit in the final minute to force the extra period, and allowed the Jazz to open up an eight-point lead in the first overtime before roaring back.
"We knew if we were able to get into overtime, we'd have a chance to win it," Jermaine O'Neal said. "Unfortunately, it went three overtimes."
Wade tied his career-high for scoring on a night when he also passed Alonzo Mourning to become the all-time leading scorer in Heat history.
He also set new bests in field goals made (19) and attempted (39).
