Magic point guard Rafer Alston has apologized for his actions during Wednesday's game against the Celtics, which led to a one-game suspension.

"I apologize to my team, to Otis [General Manager Otis Smith] and to the fans," Alston said. "I understand what it means to the team."

Alston was suspended for slapping Celtics shooting guard Eddie House during Game 2, which Boston won.

He admitted that he wasn't surprised by the suspension, and that he'll "cringe" while watching Friday's Game 3.

"Part of it is being a a man," Alston said. "Sometimes you don't back down to certain things. I'd probably do it again."
