After Sunday's season-ending loss to the Lakers, Ron Artest made it known that he wants to return to the Rockets next year.

Artest, who will become a free agent this summer, is believed to be seeking a contract greater than the $37 million over four years that Houston could have offered him in an extension.

"Yes, God willing," Artest said of a return to the Rockets. "It's not up to me."

Houston general manager Daryl Morey confirmed that the team would like to have him back as well.

"He has a desire to come back," Morey said. "We have a desire to make it work. That's step one with a lot of steps from here."
