A pair of general managers that have worked with Doug Collins don't believe the 76ers will hire him unless they are desperate to win right away.

"There's high-maintenance guys, low-maintenance guys and no-maintenance guys, and Doug is a high-maintenance guy, even if he's a great teacher and near-brilliant," one GM told the New York Daily News. "You have to manage Doug, every day."
