Lakers coach Phil Jackson says that Pau Gasol should have been called for goaltending on Courtney Lee's potential game-winning layup in Game 2.
Orlando's Lee missed the layup as time expired in regulation, but Gasol made contact with the rim.
"It's called basket interference," Jackson said prior to Game 3. "Even if you hit the net supposedly in the process that's part of it, but that rule is kind of archaic. It isn't called in this day and age as much, but when we were in high school -- that was something a high school ref might call, basket interference."
Lee's attempt came with just 0.6 seconds left.
Jackson couldn't remember an NBA game that ended on a goaltending call, but believes Sunday's contest should have.
"According to the rules, it was not," he said of whether the right call was made. "It wasn't made."
