Heat point guard Mario Chalmers has a partially torn ligament in his left thumb and is out indefinitely.

Chalmers suffered the injury against the Pistons on Friday night and missed a game for the first time in his career on Saturday against the Bucks.

An MRI on Sunday revealed the extent of the damage.

He is averaging 7.2 points and 3.5 assists per game.
