Dirk Nowitzki won't play against the Magic on Saturday and his earliest return date will be Wednesday against the Pacers.
He has already missed six games because of a sprained right knee.
"It's frustrating. When it first happened, I never thought I was going to miss two weeks," Nowitzki said.
"I guess I took the whole situation a little too lightly, but I don't have a lot of experience with knee injuries -- that's a good thing. Hopefully, these next couple of days it will respond good and I'll be ready to go."
He originally suffered the injury on Dec. 27 against the Thunder.
"As long as I still have pain, we don't want to try every day and keep aggravating it," Nowitzki said. "So we decided to shut it down for a couple of days here. I've been doing a lot -- running in the pool, riding the bike -- so I feel like I'm staying in shape."
Nowitzki Won't Return Until Wednesday At Earliest
