At least one rival executive does not think that Denver has a lot of leverage in its trade negotiations with the Knicks regarding Carmelo Anthony. The Nuggets continue to hold out for a high price in return for dealing their All-Star forward to New York.
"Denver's got to be getting nervous here pretty soon," the executive said. "You can only play poker with [New York] so much before you become Toronto or Cleveland."
Some reports have stated that the Knicks may not be able to muster the cap room necessary to sign Anthony outright as a free agent next summer.
"I don't care what the cap comes in at, they can get the guy," a rival executive said. "I've done the math a million times."
