The The 6-5 swing man finished with  21 points, four rebounds, two assists and six steals in an 89-70 win over Illinois, scoring 13 straight points over a 2:54 stretch to seal the victory in the second half.

While he does not get as much publicity as some of the other starters for Ohio State, Lighty constantly comes up with big plays when it counts. Against Northwestern, he intercepted a pass with 17 seconds left that eventually led to Sullinger’s game-winning free-throw. Lighty helped hold Michigan State’s Durrell Summers scoreless last week against the Spartans. He had four points and two rebounds in the final minute of a win over Michigan a couple of weeks back.
