Nuggets coach George Karl criticized Carmelo Anthony during a halftime interview with TNT on Thursday night.

Denver traded Anthony to New York earlier this week.

Karl said that Anthony's "defensive focus, his demand of himself, is what frustrated us more than anything."

Shortly after Karl made the comments, Anthony posted the following on his  Twitter account: "Damn, are u serious. Some people never [cease] to amaze me. Unbelievable."

He followed with "WHEN THE GRASS IS CUT THE SNAKES WILL SHOW."

Anthony was asked Friday to expand on his posts.

"That's him. That's George Karl so I don't really try to pay too much attention to that," Anthony told the New York Daily News. "I know what I've done there in the 7½ years I've been there; going to the Western Conference Finals. Last year, we were top five in a lot of categories. All that stuff, I don't know where it's coming from. I try not to pay too much attention to it."
