LAS VEGAS – Austin Daye has yet to work out for an NBA team, but the free agent forward told RealGM on Friday that he has been in discussions with several organizations.

“I haven’t yet but when I do work out, I’ll be shooting the hell out of the ball and be ready for whatever team I can go to,” Daye said. “Whatever situation I’m at, I want to get some minutes and be productive.”

Daye, 25, has mostly played sparingly in four seasons since being drafted No. 15 in 2009, and now he wants the opportunity to play significant minutes to contribute. Daye averaged 4.5 points and 2.2 rebounds last season for the Memphis Grizzlies and Detroit Pistons.

“I feel that if I’m able to get in a situation where I can play, I can be very productive and help the team win,” Daye said. “I just want the opportunity.”
