Phil Jackson and James Dolan have already had their first clash over personnel decisions, according to a source.

Jackson is looking to remove several staff members, but Dolan has opposed some of his recommendations.

A source said Dolan reacted to Jackson's request to simply focus his attention on building a winning team.

The entire coaching staff was fired on Monday and it is unclear which employees' future created the friction.

Bleacher Report reported that Steve Mills, Allan Houston and Mark Warkentien could all be reassigned or possibly dismissed.

“There are a lot of good people at the Garden and a lot of good people that travel with the team, but if Phil wants to start fresh why wouldn’t you allow him to do that?” said one Knicks employee.
