The Los Angeles Lakers have hoped to hire Jason Kidd as an assistant coach on the staff of Tyronn Lue.

Kidd interviewed for the head coaching job of the Lakers as well.

It is unclear how interested Kidd is in this type of assistant coaching role with an emphasis on player development.
