The Los Angeles Lakers and Tyronn Lue have reached an impasse on their talks for him to become head coach.

The two sides are working to find common ground on a potential assistant coaching staff.

One suggestion has been Jason Kidd, though his interest in this type of role is unclear.

Lue emerged as the clear frontrunner for the Lakers’ job once Philadelphia 76ers assistant Monty Williams agreed to a five-year contract to become head coach of the Phoenix Suns.
