Zach LaVine is looking for "respect" in his next contract.

Speaking at the Olympics, LaVine said "I outplayed my contract. I've been very loyal to Chicago. I like Chicago. I just want my respect. If that's now or later, it's something we've got to work out internally."

LaVine is in the final year of the four-year, $78 million contract he signed in 2018. That deal was initially signed with the Sacramento Kings, but the Bulls matched the offer sheet to retain LaVine. Chicago initially acquired LaVine in 2017 when Jimmy Butler was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

As it stands now, LaVine is eligible to sign an extension worth up to $105 million over four years with the Bulls. Chicago could also create cap space this offseason to re-negotiate and extend LaVine. Or LaVine can become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2022.

Lavine is coming off his first All-Star season and is currently playing with Team USA in the Tokyo Olympics. He averaged 27.4 points per game last season on the best shooting of his career.
