The Houston Rockets have already agreed to trade one veteran player away for a first-round pick this offseason. It appears that Rockets are looking to move on from another.

Houston is open to trading veteran guard Eric Gordon. The Rockets are looking for a first-round pick in exchange for Gordon. Houston previously agreed to trade Christian Wood to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for the #26 pick in this year's draft.

Acquiring that selection from the Mavs gives the Rockets three first-round picks in the 2022 NBA Draft. This is after selecting four players in the first round of the 2021 NBA Draft. It's unclear if Houston wants another pick this year or in a future year.

Gordon is coming off another productive season. He averaged 13.4 points on 47/41/78 shooting splits. The 33-year-old scoring guard has $19.6 million on his contract for 2022-23 and $20.9 million for 2023-24. However, the final season is fully non-guaranteed unless Gordon's team wins the NBA Finals in 2023 or he makes the All-Star team in 2023.
