Portland Trail Blazers guard Blake Wesley was diagnosed with a fractured fifth metatarsal in his right foot. The Trail Blazers did not give a timeline for Wesley to recover from the injury.

In his first season with Portland, Wesley has been functioning at the Blazers backup point guard. The fourth-year guard is averaging 6.0 points, 2.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.7 steals in 16.3 minutes per game.

Wesley signed with Portland on a one-year, veteran minimum contract this offseason. Wesley was waived by the Washington Wizards earlier in the offseason, after being acquired in a salary-clearing trade from the San Antonio Spurs.

The Trail Blazers are now thin behind veteran Jrue Holiday at the lead ballhandler position. Rayan Rupert and rookie two-way player Caleb Love are the only other healthy players with point guard experience on the roster. Scoot Henderson is recovering from a hamstring strain that he suffered ahead of training camp. Damian Lillard is expected to miss the entire season, as he recovers from a torn Achilles' suffered in last year's playoffs.
