Steven Adams has undergone season-ending surgery on his left ankle. Adams was ruled out indefinitely with a Grade 3 ankle sprain last week.

Adams suffered the injury when defending Zion Williamson on a drive to the basket.

Adams is averaging 5.8 points and 8.6 rebounds in 22.8 minutes per game. Adams has been a big driver of the Rockets' bully ball identity as they prioritized rebounding. The Rockets signed Clint Capela in the offseason to give the team surplus depth at center.

The Rockets signed Adams to a three-year, $39 million contract in June last year.
