Dallas Mavericks forward Cooper Flagg attended a pair of Duke University games during the All-Star break. Flagg was spotted wearing a walking book due to his left mid-foot sprain. However, the Mavericks don't believe the injury is a serious one.
There's no timeline for when the rookie forward will return to play. Flagg missed the Mavs last game before the break due to the injury.
The more immediate concern for Dallas is how they'll keep Flagg's enthusiasm high over the final two months of his rookie season. The Mavericks are currently on a nine-game losing streak, and the final stretch it likely to come with plenty of other loses as well. Their 2026 first-round pick is the last pick the Mavs have control over until the 2031 draft.
