Kevin Durant sustained a right knee contusion during practice this week and has been added to the Houston Rockets' injury report ahead of Game 1 on Saturday at the Los Angeles Lakers. The Rockets are optimistic that Durant's knee injury will not be a significant issue during the series and is listed as questionable for Game 1.
The Rockets face an injury-depleted Lakers team that are without both Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves indefinitely. Houston enters their first round series as significant favorites against the Lakers. Durant will battle against LeBron James in the postseason for the first time since the 2018 Finals.
During his first season with the Rockets following his trade from the Phoenix Suns, Durant averaged 26.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists. Durant took on a significant role in the Rockets' offense as the team lost Fred VanVleet before the start of the season with a torn ACL.
