Anthony Edwards has been cleared for Game 1 of the Minnesota Timberwolves' second round series against the San Antonio Spurs as he recovers from a bone bruise and hyperextended knee. Edwards was a significant participant during Wolves' shootaround on Monday morning.
Edwards suffered the injury a week ago Saturday in Game 4 of the Wolves' first round series against the Denver Nuggets. Edwards was not expected to be cleared until mid-series as the injury typically requires a minimum two-week recovery.
The Spurs are heavy favorites in the series, but the return of Edwards will undoubtedly give the Wolves a better chance. Minnesota is without Donte DiVincenzo, who suffered a torn Achilles in Game 4 of the first round.
