Chicago Bulls coach Billy Donovan isn't ready to say Lonzo Ball has suffered a setback in his rehab from a knee injury. But Donovan didn't paint a positive picture about where Ball is at either, as he shared that the Bulls guard is still unable to sprint.

"I don’t know if he’s stuck," Donovan said. "He is doing some shooting, some running, some jumping. He hasn’t done any sprinting yet, that I know."

Donovan was asked if that's a setback and he stopped short of calling it that.

"They talked about that, and [sprinting] was kind of a goal, a set point. I do think the one thing that has been a priority right now, so he does not get set back, is he needs to develop more strength in his leg," Donovan said. "Because of him having that surgery and being off his leg so long, before he’s really able to ramp up, I think they want him to get to a place physically that relates to his quad strength. I don’t want to say it’s a holdup, but that’s where they want to get him to. In terms of what he’s doing, he feels better."

Ball hasn't played in a game since January 14, 2022. The veteran point guard missed the second half of that season, and all of the 2022-23 season. Ball has been ruled out for the entirety of this season, as well. That means the next chance for Ball to play will be over two-and-a-half years from his last appearance.

The Chicago Bulls have agreed to sign Andrew Funk to a Two-Way contract.

Funk is currently playing for the Grand Rapids Gold of the G League where he is averaging 13.7 points on 39.6 percent shooting on three-pointers. 

The Chicago Bulls converted Onuralp Bitim from a Two-Way contract to a standard NBA contract, reported Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Bitim is averaging 14.2 points for the Bulls' G League team this season. 

Ryan Arcidiacono has signed with the Windy City Bulls of the G League.

Arcidiacono appeared in 20 games for the Knicks this season and previously spent four seasons with the Bulls.

Patrick Williams will undergo season-ending surgery on his left foot.

Williams, who has been sidelined since Jan 25 with initial bone edema in his left foot, recently underwent routine subsequent imaging revealing the progression of his foot stress reaction. 

Williams will be a restricted free agent with the Chicago Bulls this offseason.

Chicago Bulls wing Torrey Craig will be out two-to-four weeks due to a right knee sprain. Craig was injured while working out over the All-Star break.

The 6-foot-7 wing previously missed six weeks this season due to a foot injury. Craig returned at the start of February and stepped right back into the Bulls rotation.

The Chicago Bulls gave "real consideration" to a trade of Alex Caruso to the Golden State Warriors ahead of the deadline, sources tell Marc Stein of The Stein Line.

The Bulls had maintained for weeks that they wouldn't trade Caruso, who is signed next season on a $9.89 million deal. Caruso is one of the league's best perimeter defenders and is hooting 40.1 percent on three-pointers this season.

Caruso is represented by Greg Lawrence of Wasserman.

The Warriors also reached out to the Los Angeles Lakers on a trade for LeBron James.

The Chicago Bulls stood pat at the trade deadline. Despite sitting in range of the Play-In Tournament and having several veterans on tradable contracts, the Bulls are running with what they have.

One of those veterans is DeMar DeRozan. Chicago would like to sign the veteran wing to a contract extension. That's something DeRozan is reportedly open to, provided the offer is good enough.

In his three seasons with the Bulls, DeRozan has been the team's best player. He's stayed mostly healthy and has averaged 25.3 points, 5.1 assists and 4.7 rebounds in his Chicago tenure. DeRozan also made All-Star teams in 2022 and 2023, and All-NBA Second Team in 2022.

The Chicago Bulls ownership reportedly gave Arturas Karnisovas the green light to reshape the roster, sources told K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago. 

The Bulls, who sat out the trade deadline, haven't traded a player since Lauri Markkanen in 2021.

Andre Drummond and Alex Caruso drew interest from opposing teams.

The front office did have discussions about whether to trade players and reshape the roster now, though they decided to push the decision to this offseason. 

The Golden State Warriors had trade talks with the Chicago Bulls on Alex Caruso leading to the deadline.

The Bulls have maintained a high asking price for Caruso, who is signed through the 24-25 season.
